Amy Ciavolino is an emerging queer artist based in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn. Since moving from rural Maryland to New York City in 2012, she has drawn inspiration from the details of her everyday life, capturing beauty in the ordinary, whether it’s the delicate bloom of a tree or the vibrant reflections on a subway column, inviting viewers to find beauty in unexpected places. She is currently embracing painting as a primary medium, but enjoys many types of artistic expression including cake decorating, animated gifs, sewing, and colored pencils. Outside of her artistic practice, Amy is a Software Engineer and certified conflict mediator.
