About me
Amy Ciavolino is an emerging queer visual artist based in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn. She is currently embracing painting as a primary medium, but has spent a lifetime creating art from animated gifs to photography and ephemeral sculpture. Her gifs have been widely shared online, reaching over 7 billion views.
Her recent work takes a zoomed in look at nature in the city, capturing the flowers that brighten our streets. These flowers are elevated through a portraiture lens, highlighting nature growing in margins of the urban landscape. Read more in her Artist Statement.
